Vienna Lager is an amber, malt-forward lager with toasty, bread-crust character from Vienna malt, balanced by clean lager fermentation and restrained hop bitterness, usually 4.5-5.5% ABV. It's darker and maltier than Helles Lager or German Pilsner, but lighter and less roasty than a dark lager -- occupying the toasted-amber middle ground of the lager family, closer in spirit to a lager version of an amber ale than to anything hoppy or dark.
