Before You Go

  • Parking: South End has metered street parking and several pay lots off South Blvd; spots get tight on weekend afternoons, so arrive early or park once and walk the whole route.
  • The Lynx Blue Line light rail runs the length of South End (Carson, New Bern, and East/West Blvd stations) if you'd rather ride than walk part of it.
  • The Charlotte Rail Trail runs parallel to the light rail and is the flattest, most direct walking path between most of these stops.
  • Rideshare is easy to find in South End at most hours if you want to skip a leg or the whole walk back.
  • Pace yourself — a full lap is a few hours with drinks included. Eat something, drink water between stops, and have a plan for getting home before you start.
