Southern Strain Brewing
Southern Strain Brewing started in fall 2020 out of a small warehouse in Charlotte, selling beer in cans and kegs to bars and restaurants. They've since expanded to two impressive locations with full taprooms and food service. The Plaza Midwood location opened in 2022 in a beautiful, open, airy space with lifted garage doors, cool wall murals, and a relaxed atmosphere. Their Concord flagship features a large taproom with seating in the brew house area, extensive outdoor space, and HotBox Kitchen serving elevated pub fare. The brewery focuses on creating clean, intentionally-made beers across all styles, from hoppy pilsners to juicy IPAs to rich stouts. Both locations are dog-friendly and host regular events including trivia, run club, and open mic nights.
