Heist Brewery opened its doors in 2012 as Charlotte's only craft brewpub, becoming a pillar of the beer scene. Originally brewing on a 10-barrel German brewhouse, they have since opened a 30-barrel production facility. Heist focuses on small batch beer ranging from traditional Belgian table beers and saisons to IPAs, double IPAs, porters, and imperial stouts - plus modern styles like hazy IPAs, pastry stouts, and fruited sours. The shared plate menu is served tapas style, showcasing wood-fired specialties with locally sourced produce and meats. The NoDa location features an expansive space with two bar rooms (one with table service) and a great outdoor patio. The Barrel Arts location opened in 2019 near Camp North End, serving their beers with a full food menu featuring small plates, appetizers, and pizza.
