Weathered Souls Brewing Co.
Weathered Souls opened a Charlotte location in November 2022 in South End as an outpost of the Texas-based brewery known for its creative beers and the Black Is Beautiful initiative, a social justice-oriented collaboration series. The brewery was notable as one of the few Black-owned breweries in the city and quickly became part of Charlotte’s craft scene. Despite initial promise and community events, financial strains including inflation, renovation costs, and lower-than-expected revenue led to the announcement of its closure in April 2024; its Charlotte taproom held a “last call” before shutting its doors permanently.
