Traust Brewing
Traust Brewing is a veteran and woman-owned family-run brewpub that brewed its first beer in fall 2020 from a small Charlotte warehouse. In summer 2021, they purchased a building in downtown Mount Holly, and in spring 2022, the brewery moved home to Mount Holly. The name 'Traust' comes from Old Norse meaning 'trust' - Vikings used it to describe a central gathering place with fire, beer, mead, and friends where no fighting was allowed ('leave your axe at the door!'). The brewpub offers elevated food with a Nordic flair, craft beers, wine, cocktails, ciders, seltzers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Located in the heart of Mount Holly with parking behind the building, Traust hosts unique events including plant swaps, Girls Night Out, oyster roasts, and even Extreme Dwarfinators Wrestling.
