Primal Brewery

Founded in December 2013 by home brewers Ray Steimel and David Hoy, Primal Brewery opened its flagship Huntersville location on December 26, 2014, becoming Huntersville's first brewery. Starting with a 1-barrel brewhouse, they've grown significantly, opening a second location in Belmont in 2020 with a 10-barrel production facility. The name 'Primal' reflects their philosophy that beer is essential and fundamental to life. Their mission is to brew beer for all tastes and preferences, creating styles that appeal to both first-time craft beer drinkers and seasoned aficionados. The Huntersville taproom offers a warm, low-ceiling gathering space with outdoor beer garden, while the Belmont location handles main production.
