NoDa Brewing Company opened in 2011 as one of Charlotte's first craft breweries, named after the North Davidson Street bohemian and artistic neighborhood. Founded by owner Todd Ford, whose flagship IPA Hop Drop 'N Roll began as his homebrew recipe. In 2014, just three years after opening, Hop Drop 'N Roll won World Beer Cup Gold Award in the competition's largest category, propelling NoDa onto the national stage. This recognition led to rapid expansion from a 15BBL brewhouse in NoDa neighborhood to a 60BBL brewhouse in North End. NoDa also opened a taproom at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in 2018, featuring the Layover Lager created specifically for travelers. The family and dog-friendly brewery features large beer garden and patio space, with a range of beer styles ensuring everyone 21+ can find something they enjoy. NoDa Run Club meets Wednesday and Sunday, and the brewery hosts monthly charity roundups and 'You Drink, We Donate' nights supporting local charities.
