Lake Norman Brewery
Lake Norman Brewery was founded by neighbors David Waggoner and Dan Ackerman, who met in 2017 when the Ackermans bought the house next door to the Waggoners. David, a mechanical engineer and general contractor who built his own house, and Dan, an IT executive with over 20 years of homebrewing experience, combined their passions to open Lincoln County's first brewery. The brewery sits on eight acres of natural woodland with an 1,800 square foot patio, creating the perfect backdrop for enjoying craft beer by the fire pit or playing cornhole. They operate both a production brewhouse and a 3-barrel pilot system with multiple fermenters, allowing them to explore new recipes and experiment with different yeasts, dry hops, and adjuncts. The mission is to brew exceptional craft beers across traditional and new styles while offering the Lake Norman community a comfortable, welcoming gathering place.
