Blue Blaze Brewing
Blue Blaze Brewing was a small, independent craft brewery that opened in 2016 in Charlotte’s West End neighborhood, near the Stewart Creek Greenway, and was known for its relaxed, outdoor‑friendly atmosphere and community‑oriented vibe. Founded by Craig Nunn and Sven Giersmann with a focus on handcrafted beers and outdoor culture themes, it became notable as one of the earliest breweries in that part of the city and for offering a range of house beers such as Yellow Blazer Kölsch and Black Blaze Milk Stout. Over the years it developed a loyal local following, frequently hosting meetups and casual gatherings in its indoor‑outdoor taproom space. After an extended dispute over rent increases tied to nearby redevelopment, the brewery announced its permanent closure in March 2024, marking the end of its eight‑year run in Charlotte, though the owners expressed hopes of possibly returning in a new location.
